PROJECTS - Equipment for Animal Studies

SMALL PREDATORY MAMMAL STUDY EQUIPMENT: Radio telemetry (tracking) equipment was provided to Shamwari Game Reserve so that certain essential small predators (e.g. black-backed jackals, caracal cats, etc.) that are hunted to near extinction by farmers, can be studied in order to determine their range, habits, and needs in space restricted areas. Such predators are essential to the balance of wildlife. Without them rats and other "undesirable", but necessary animals overpopulate.
